 President Barack Obama is making his first post-presidential campaign appearance on Thursday where he is set to stump forVirginia gubernatorial candidate Ralph Northam in Richmond. Northam s campaign announced the event on Wednesday, saying in a statement that Obama would be hosting a rally with Northam Thursday night. At the rally, Ralph and President Obama will discuss the need for the next governor to create economic opportunity for all Virginians -- no matter who you are or where you re from,  the statement added.                                        Obama has participated in few speaking engagements since the 2016 presidential election, often taking to Twitter to weigh in on national tragedies and political debates as of late.Former Vice President Joe Biden, will also be lending a hand to the Northam campaign at an event on Saturday.        Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence will be campaigning with Northam s opponent, Ed Gillespie, on Saturday as well.Virginia s gubernatorial election will take place on November 7th.  Washington - Former White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah, the first Indian-American to hold that position, has officially left the White House and joined the firm of powerful lobbyist Brian Ballard, who has long counted Donald Trump as one of his lobbying clients and has known him for 30 years. Shah will not be a lobbying for Ballard, however, and will instead be launching and co-heading the firm s new media group with former Assistant Secretary of State Jamie Rubin, a Bill Clinton appointee who has worked for Ballard since last year.
