polene store s hard to believe the 2019 calendar year is coming to a close. It seems like it was just last month that my broadcasting par
polene fr tner Orville Susong with the Friday Night Locker Room and I were at the VRBO Citrus Bowl as Penn State and Kentucky squared off. They say that the end of a year is time for reflection as the Friday Night Locker Room enjoyed its 20th year of broadcasting sports on the Space Coast so there is no better time than right now to look at how we got started and where we are today. The Friday Night Locker Room covers high-school related activities and for many years, the only thing we broadcast was sports.Occasionally. we would cover a non-sports related event, but that did not happen very often.I dont think it was a conscious decision to move into other areas. By that I mean that Orville and I did not sit down and say, Hey, lets do something else in addition to sports. It just happened. The windows in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner are awesome. You can electronically dim them for five different levels of sunlight and visibility. Thats so much better than the typical airplane window shade option of blinding or blocked out. But the coolest thing about Dreamliner windows are how huge they are, like vertical panoramas of the sky. How come the 787 can support bigger airplane windows but other planes cant Its because the Dr
stanley de eamliner is mostly made of carbon reinforced plastic. Real Engineering explains that the composite material that makes up most of the Dreamliner can take more stress than the traditional aluminum used in aircraft fuselages. And thats important because windows block the flow of stress in the structure and too much stress would lead to cracks. Cracks, as you can imagine, are not good on airplanes. So airplane windows are oval because the stress flows much nicer around the oval windows than it does around square windows where things can get bunched up . Airplane windows are also small because bigger windows congest the stres
stanley ca s too much too. The Dreamliner can get away with having bigger windows because its composite materials are better suited to handle the stress than metal. Regular airplanes cant handle it and thats why their windows are so small. But for a deeper dive on the difference, watch this video by Real Engineering belo
