Regarding this last aspect, Jurado has explained that the payment of this fee represents 鈥渁 preventive punishment鈥?that affects private copying and that 鈥渋t has nothing to do with the fight against piracy.鈥?鈥淭he digital fee is illegal and does not we understand the passivitythe Ministry of Culture and the Government to adapt the regulation of such an important issue. This system means that 0.51 cents are lost for every euro collected, so this procedure has to be adapted to the current system and reality,鈥?explained the president of NNGG. In this sense, Beatriz Jurado has asked to address this issue in depth and 鈥渢o begin with a new stage of intellectual property regulation and guarantee its protection through systems that are not preventive and ineffective penalties.鈥?Finally, NNGG has asked that Spain lead as soon as possible a new regulation that allows us to be competitive at the European level and that puts an end to the existing legal uncertainty that represents a serious brake on the economic recovery of our country.
