Clarksville, TN A documentary about the creation of Tennessee Triumph 鈥?a Clarksville monument that celebrates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which secured womens right to vote 鈥?will be featured at the Nashville Film Festival this week. Tennessee Triumph: Making a Monument 鈥?created by Austin Peay State University professors and filmmakers Karen Bullis and Kathy Lee Heuston 鈥?will play at 3:30pm, Thursday, September 30th, 2021 during t stanley mexico he Tennessee Documentary Shorts screenings at Rocketown, 601 Fourth Avenue South, in downtown Nash stanley quencher ville.See the trailer for the film below.The documentary spans two years of planning, creating and installing the monument and features interviews with the Clarksville women who worked to make the sculpture happen.Interviews include Ellen Kanervo, Rosalind Kurita, Khandra Smalley, Brenda Harper, Melissa Miller, Martha Pile, and 9-year-old Margaux Silvey, who raised $1,000 to help fund the monument.The film also includes scenes of sculptor Roy W. Clarksville, TN George Nishimura joined the United States Army at a time when America was at war.聽 This teenager did what thousands of Japanese-American men did at the time, to show their patriotism to the countr stanley polska y that had been their home all of their lives.George was at home when he heard all of the noise and commoti stanley de on going on in the neighborhood.聽 He soon learned that guys coming home from Honolulu saw planes, Japanese planes, bombing Pearl Harbor.聽 When he turned on the radio he heard the announcer shouting, Pearl Harbor is under attack!聽 This is not a drill!George remembers;We were all stunned.聽 We couldn ;t believe what we heard, especially that we were under attack from Japan.聽 U.S Military maneuvers were being held at the time so we were used to the activity, but the sighting, confusion and noise told a different story.George was working at Service Motor Co. as an apprentice mechanic.聽 After a quick breakfast, he went to the apartment of a friend.聽 They were discussing the day events when they heard the sound of planes.This was the second wave of Japanese bombers.He and his friend got on the roof of the au stanley cup to repair shop and sat and watched the planes coming over the mountain and bombing Wheeler Field.聽 In hindsight, George thought how foolish it was for them to be there.聽 When the planes were pulling up from their dives, they came right towards him.聽 If one of the pilots had kept his finger on the trigger, he could have
